Frequently asked questions

Will silence removal change my audio quality?
No. SnapOtter trims silent segments and re-joins the remaining audio without re-encoding the waveform data, so quality stays intact. All processing happens locally on your server.
Can I control what counts as silence?
Yes. You can set a decibel threshold and a minimum duration so that brief natural pauses are preserved while longer dead-air gaps are removed. Processing runs entirely on your own hardware.
What audio formats are supported?
SnapOtter supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A, and other common formats. Your files are processed on your self-hosted instance and never uploaded to external servers.
