You drop images into TinyPNG or call the Tinify API, and it compresses them on Tinify's servers, counting each one against a monthly quota.
Why that matters for sensitive files
The originals are uploaded to a third party to be compressed, and the free quota caps you at a few hundred images a month. For product imagery or anything with people or data in frame, that is an upload you may not want to make.
